Directions & Info | Gillson Beach in Wilmette, Illinois

PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR PARKING & WALKING TO THE SHOOT LOCATION
As of June 2019, Gillson Park is under major construction for major park renovations.

Parking is limited during construction. Many of the places you may be accustomed to parking at are temporarily not available. Please be prepared to walk a bit of a distance to get to the shoot location. Or, have one family member drop everyone at the shoot location and then park the car. Make sure to allow at least twenty to thirty minutes prior to your shoot time, as it can be tricky to find parking and then walk to the shoot location.

PARKING FOR NON-WILMETTE RESIDENTS
Currently parking for non-Wilmette residents has been greatly reduced due to construction. There are portions of Michigan Ave that have parking available that doesn’t require a current Wilmette Vehicle Sticker or Seasonal Decal Permit.  Make sure to double check the parking signage when choosing a parking spot, Wilmette Police ticket aggressively, so please do not park in areas designated as such.

PARKING FOR WILMETTE RESIDENTS
Wilmette residents with a current Wilmette Vehicle Sticker or Seasonal Decal Permit have many more parking options than those without. See above map for details and double check signage wherever you park.

SHOOT LOCATION
Please meet us at Gillson Park. We will be near the south end of the non-swim beach. The spot is just north of the dog park and harbor. We will be near the area where the Wilmette Resident Parking begins along the lakefront.

You will likely see Nicole and her assistant on the beach shooting when you arrive, as mini sessions are booked back to back. They will likely have large diffusers and reflectors to shield and block the sun, making them easy to spot.
